Syed Hashmi Reference Library Holds General Body Meeting and Elections
The Syed Hashmi Reference Library held its General Body Meeting and elections in Malir on Sunday, January 5, 2025, marking the completion of the two-year term of the previous cabinet. During the meeting, the two-year progress and financial reports were presented to the members. Following the presentation, outgoing president Akbar Wali formally announced the dissolution of the cabinet in accordance with the organization’s constitution.
An Election Commission was constituted to oversee the electoral process, with Shabbir Rakhshani serving as Chairman, and Tanveer Mirza and Majid Shad as members. Members submitted their nominations for the designated positions, and elections were conducted accordingly.
The newly elected cabinet members are as follows:
President: Dr. Prof. Ramzan Bamri
Vice President (First): Akbar Wali
Vice President (Second): Comrade Abdul Wahid
General Secretary: Jamal Nasir
Joint Secretary: Zaheer Ahmad Zaheer
Finance Secretary: Salman Baloch
Information Secretary: Mushtaq Rasool
Coordination Secretary: Dr. Asim Zaheer
Office Secretary: Zarif Mahmood
From the women’s section, Asma Ghani was elected as a representative in the Executive Committee. Additionally, Professor Dr. Rahim Mehr, Ustad Asghar Ali Aazag, Ghulam Rasool Baloch, Akhtar Qazi, and Nisar Ahmad Baloch were elected as members of the Executive Committee.
Following the announcement of results, Election Commission Chairman Shabbir Rakhshani administered the oath of office to the newly elected cabinet.
In his address, the newly elected President, Dr. Prof. Ramzan Bamri, congratulated all members on the successful elections. He expressed hope that the new cabinet would diligently fulfill its responsibilities and continue the organization’s efforts to achieve its goals.
